Terms of use

Updated 5 October 2026. These terms govern use of The Saif House and purchases from Avintanio Consulting Limited, subject to mandatory Cyprus and European Union consumer rights.

About us

The Saif House website is operated by Avintanio Consulting Limited, 360 Business Centre, 3rd Floor, Office 301, 6 Afroditis, 1060 Nicosia, Cyprus. Contact: info@saifedean.com.

Scope and applicable rules

These terms govern use of the website and purchases of physical books, ebooks, audiobooks and related products. They are intended to operate alongside mandatory Cyprus and EU consumer law, including the Cyprus Consumer Protection Law 112(I)/2021 as amended and the Electronic Commerce Law 156(I)/2004. Mandatory rights cannot be excluded by these terms.

Using the website

You must use the website lawfully and must not interfere with its security, availability, intellectual property or other users. You are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential and for information supplied through your account.

Product information and availability

We take reasonable care to describe titles, contributors, editions, formats, dimensions and availability accurately. Cover images and colours are illustrative and may vary by screen or printing. Availability may change before an order is accepted. If a material error affects an order, we will contact you with available options.

Prices, taxes and currency

The product price, currency, applicable taxes, delivery charges and total payable are shown before you submit an order. Import duties or local charges not collected at checkout may be payable by the recipient. We may correct an obvious pricing error before accepting an order.

Orders and contract formation

Your checkout submission is an offer to purchase. A binding contract is formed when we send an order-acceptance or dispatch confirmation, depending on the product and checkout flow. An automated receipt only confirms that we received the order. We may decline an order before acceptance where a product is unavailable, information is incomplete, a clear error occurred or fraud is reasonably suspected.

Payment

Available payment methods are shown at checkout. Payment credentials are entered into the payment provider’s secure checkout; we do not collect or store full card or bank-account details. We receive confirmation needed to accept, reconcile or refund the order. Where bitcoin is offered at checkout, a payment is complete only after the required network payment is confirmed.

Delivery

Available methods, charges and estimates are shown at checkout. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed dates unless expressly stated. You must provide a complete and accurate address. For consumer orders, responsibility for loss or damage passes as required by mandatory law, normally when you or a person you nominate receives the goods.

Digital products and audiobooks

Digital products are supplied in the format described at checkout and licensed for personal, non-commercial use. You may download or access them as stated with the product. You must not reproduce, distribute, resell, share access credentials or make the files publicly available except where law permits.

Fourteen-day right of withdrawal

If you are an EU or EEA consumer buying physical goods online, you generally have 14 days from the day you, or a person you nominate, receives the goods to withdraw without giving a reason. Tell us clearly before the deadline by email or by using the model notice below. You must return the goods within 14 days after notifying us. Unless we agree otherwise or failed to tell you, you bear the direct return cost.

We will refund eligible payments, including the least expensive standard delivery option offered, within 14 days after receiving your notice. We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or evidence that they were sent back. You are responsible only for reduced value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions and digital content

The withdrawal right may not apply to personalised goods, unsealed sealed audio or software media, or other statutory exceptions. For ebooks, audiobooks and other digital content not supplied on a physical medium, the right may be lost once supply begins only where you expressly consented to immediate supply and acknowledged that this ends the withdrawal right. If those conditions are not met, mandatory rights remain available.

Model withdrawal notice

To withdraw, email info@saifedean.com with this information: “I give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following goods or digital content: [item]. Ordered on / received on: [date]. Order number: [number]. Consumer name and address: [details]. Date: [date].” A signature is needed only if the notice is sent on paper.

Returns, refunds and exchanges

Contact us before returning a product so we can provide instructions and identify the order. Refunds are made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed and legally permitted. Nothing in this section limits rights for faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods.

Conformity and legal guarantee

Goods must conform to the contract. EU and Cyprus consumers have a minimum two-year legal guarantee for lack of conformity, subject to applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to repair or replacement, a proportionate price reduction, or termination and refund. Remedies required by law are provided without charge.

Damaged or incorrect deliveries

Inspect the delivery when reasonably possible and contact us promptly if an item arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect. Include the order number and useful photographs where possible. A delay in contacting us does not remove mandatory consumer rights.

Intellectual property

The website, books, text, artwork, trademarks and other materials are protected by intellectual-property laws. Purchasing a product transfers ownership of the physical copy or the stated digital licence, not copyright or other intellectual-property rights.

Reviews and third-party information

Ratings shown on the website are attributed to their source and may change after the date checked. Third-party reviews and linked content are controlled by their respective platforms. We do not alter third-party ratings to create a misleading impression.

External services and links

Checkout, payments, delivery, translated-edition listings and other features may rely on third parties. Their separate terms may apply to their service. We are not responsible for content on websites we do not control.

Liability

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for unforeseeable loss, business loss arising from consumer use, or delay outside our reasonable control. Nothing excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.

Events outside reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, but we will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect and inform affected customers where appropriate. If a material delay continues, mandatory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.

Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled. Use the privacy controls available on this store to manage your privacy choices.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. If you are a consumer, mandatory protections and jurisdiction rights in your country of habitual residence remain unaffected. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a complaint. You may also contact the Cyprus Consumer Protection Service at consumer.gov.cy.

Changes and severability

The terms in force when an order is accepted apply to that order. We may update website-use terms for future use. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
